There was a practice game on Friday to limber up those old bones and a fun game on Sunday with teams composed of players from both teams and coaches intermixed. Perhaps the highlight was the game between a blend of players from the US and Canadian team against a group of eight year old players from the Ottawa area. It is amazing how well they skate and they know the game. Needless to say, it was not a shutout.
The Over 80 + Hall of Fame induction was held two weeks latter and a number of participants were inducted including Tom Mills (originally from Alberta) from the US team and Edwin Lowe from Ontario who played for Canada. Ed also plays with us in Ellenton, Florida in the winter.
I trust that all of you will have an exciting winter of hockey: whether it is playing, watching your favorite team or supporting your grand children or great-grandchildren.
If you are in Florida next December, please consider attending the Over 80+ Hall of Fame Games. And, bring your friends and neighbors.
All of us Old Timers thank you you for your support and participation in this game that we all love.
ABOUT US

Hockey Players and Friends
The Over 80 US Team played against Canada in Ottawa from October 12 thru 14. This was the second year of the event which will be repeated next year in Tampa, Florida: most likely in early December.
The US Team, which won the CANADA 150 CUP in the inaugural year in 2017, was not successful this year.
CANADA won 3 to 0. It was a fantastic event and all of the activities were superb. The result was that everyone had a wonderful time and all of us make new friends and visited with old friends and acquaintances. In addition to the Championship Game, there were other spirited and friendly contests.
